Z. Pressley Rice, MD, FAAD
GSDDS President
3, 2, 1... Happy New Year! And just like that- The first quarter of the first century of this millennium is in the history books. For many of us, this likely comes with a mix of emotions, including, but not limited to, the time went all too quickly, yet so much has changed.
To be sure, while it important to reflect on the past and be hopeful for the future, one of the best ways to slow time down (at least conceptually) is to fully immerse ourselves in the present.
Established in 1958, with over 200 members, GSDDS strives to enhance the quality of human life by supporting an environment in which dermatologists can provide the highest quality of care. Of note, GSDDS provides representation to the Medical Association of Georgia and the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), through experienced advocacy. Additionally, our GSDDS Grants program is another means by which we sustain our mission.
GSDDS is model state advocacy group, having been continuously recognized and honored by the AAD.
I am honored to serve as your 2026 Georgia Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery (GSDDS) President, standing on the shoulders of past presidents and extending this long, proud legacy to presidents to come. To all members, I would like encourage you participate and synergize with colleagues at our annual meetings, Clinical Congress of Dermatology and GSDDS Member Retreat, and other GSDDS advocacy events.
In summary, let us fully maximize the present because, yes, before we know it, 2050 will be here...
All The Best,
Z. Pressley Rice, MD, FAAD
2026 Georgia Society for Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery President
